Kingsley Smith opened his first restaurant in Sydney CBD in 1994 – fast forward 25 years & nine restaurants later, the doors to China Diner Bondi opened in 2014 & China Diner Double Bay in 2017. Seeing a gap in the Sydney market for high end dumplings, san choi bao & bao outside of Chinatown, over 200,000 dumplings have been consumed in the venue, through take-away & delivery.

In 2019, China Diner refined the offering including a vegan section, but carefully maintaining all your favourites including duck pancakes, prawn & water chestnut har gow & xiao long bao.

While all distinctly part of the China Diner group, each venue has its own unique identity. China Diner Bondi oozes excitement, buzz, energy & an air of the dramatic, that come together with bursts of neon, to create an inimitable Asian dining experience alongside one of Sydney’s most iconic beaches. The dining room remains a firm favourite for functions, with up to 96 people seated.

China Diner Double Bay has a more intimate feel, with five booths & outdoor seating.

2020 has brought a new addition to the family, with China Diner Tramsheds set to open in December.
